MOD DAC 2012 – Singapore

Singapore August 24 – 26, 2012

New EgglestonWorks distributor, Audio Note, invited us to their local show called MOD DAC 2012 at the Raffles Convention Center in Singapore early this fall. The show was a consumer show put on the by the Singapore Audio Society. The show was small but very well attended. Part of the great attendance may have been due to the fact that the show was free to the public. We couldn’t think of another show that was free to the public, and it seems like a good way to engage attendees that might not otherwise attend a show like this. This is not to say that Singapore does not have a large and active audiophile community, that probably would have paid admission anyway, but a free show is still a good idea in our opinion.

Audio Note’s room featured Andra III’s and Constellation Audio equipment. The room was quite large, but the sound was extremely good and gave intimacy to such a big space. It is worth noting that the attendee’s at the Singapore Show were knowledgeable, polite and fun to talk to. It is hard to ask for more.

It’s always good to see interest in audio high enough to justify a local show anywhere. The audiophile’s in Singapore are lucky to have a group like the Singapore Audio Society. We will attend this show again for sure.
