CES 2013

egg_ces_2013Las Vegas, NV – CES 2013 took place from January 8 – 11. As usual the High Performance Audio displays were in the suites at the Venetian Hotel. This year marks 18 consecutive appearances for the EgglestonWorks brand of loudspeakers.

This year our room was on the 30th floor in suite 30-203.  We shared this space with Rogue Audio, a manufacturer of quality electronics from Pennsylvania.

New for EgglestonWorks this year was the completely re-designed Nine Signature.    We connected the Nine Signature to Rogue’s new Sphinx integrated amplifier and made some of the best sound we have heard at any show.  This was not just our opinion, but one that was shared by many attendees, distributors, dealers, and members of the press.

Here is what a few of the members of the press had to say about our room:

–       “From what I could tell, the Sphinx had no problem driving the big EgglestonWorks Model Nine Signature ($18,000/pair). Leonard Cohen’s voice was honest and compelling.”   Stephen Mejias – Stereophile

–       One of Eggleston Works newest and most popular speakers, the three-way, bass reflex Nine floorstander ($18,000) is now the Nine Signature version (pictured above). Upgraded throughout, with a 150 lb curb weight, the key difference is an internal cabinet mod that sections off the dual midrange transducers for added efficiency and improved low-end response. Displaying with Rogue Audio electronics–the nifty new Sphinx integrated–and Synergistic cabling the SE offered a compelling combination of extension and transparency that makes it one of the sweetest Eggs I’ve heard in some time.”  Neil Gader – The Absolute Sound

 –       “I put on a 96k/24 bit file of “Can’t You Hear Me Knockin'” from Sticky Fingers transferred from vinyl and cranked it. The sound was fantastic. It attracted a crowd in no time.”  Michael FremerStereophile/Analog Planet

We also had visits from Larry Greenhill of Stereophile and Jeff Fritz of Soundstage.  We thank all of the members of the press that came by the room and appreciate the coverage of our room.

In addition to the press, we also had several of our distributors make the trip to Las Vegas this year:  Jacky Wang and Tony Wu of Bragi Development, Shanghai,; Nat Sup of Sound and Cinema, Bangkok, Thailand; Igor Popov of Qvinta, Moscow, Russia.

It was a very special honor this year to have Darcy Proper and Ronald Prent of Wisseloord Studios in our room.  Wisseloord is located in Hilversum, the Netherlands and features two separate mastering studios each with its own 5 channel Savoy Signature system.   Darcy spent some time playing tracks that she mastered on the Savoy’s and talking to visitors to our room about the mastering process.  Both Ronald and Darcy were impressed with the new Nine Signature.

CES 2013 was a big success for EgglestonWorks.  We would like to extend our appreciation to everyone that came in and gave our new products a listen.
