October 16–18, 2026 | StereoNET Hi-Fi & AV Expo | Melbourne, Australia
Nearly three decades after the original Andra helped establish EgglestonWorks, its fifth generation has made its Australian debut.
At the 2026 StereoNET Hi-Fi & AV Expo in Melbourne, our Australian distributor, Reference Audio Visual, presented the Andra 5 alongside a carefully assembled system of Esoteric electronics. Working with our Australian dealer, Krispy Audio, the team created an opportunity for visitors to experience the latest evolution of one of our most enduring loudspeaker designs.
Held October 16–18 at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, the show brought together audio manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and enthusiasts from across Australia and beyond.
A Memphis Original, Reimagined
The Andra occupies a special place in EgglestonWorks history. Introduced in the company’s earliest years, it established a design philosophy that continues to influence our work today: distinctive cabinet construction, carefully selected drivers, and a commitment to musical realism.
The Andra 5 carries that philosophy forward with an extensively refined design, including carbon-fiber midrange drivers, a thin-ply carbon diaphragm tweeter, a 12-inch woofer, and a cabinet engineered for both acoustic performance and visual presence.
For its Australian debut, Reference AV presented the speakers in a Champagne Quartz Metallic finish, paired with an extensive collection of electronics from Japanese manufacturer Esoteric.
The system included Esoteric digital sources and Class-A amplification, with Shunyata Research cabling completing the signal chain. It was a thoughtfully assembled demonstration that brought together two manufacturers with distinct approaches to precision engineering and craftsmanship.

A Room Worth Listening To
Audio shows are rarely ideal acoustic environments. Hotel rooms impose their own limitations, and exhibitors have relatively little time to transform them into convincing listening spaces.
That’s part of what makes a successful demonstration noteworthy.
The Melbourne system attracted favorable attention from two respected Australian audio publications.
StereoNET’s show report described a relaxed, balanced presentation, highlighting the Andra 5’s controlled bass, detailed midrange, and extended high-frequency performance. The reviewer also observed that visitors tended to remain in the room for multiple tracks—a particularly welcome compliment for any audio demonstration.
SoundStage Australia included the Reference AV room among its standout exhibits, noting the system’s refinement, low-level detail, bass extension, and ability to create a convincing soundstage despite the limitations of the room.
For us, that kind of independent response is especially gratifying. The Andra 5 was designed to communicate the scale, texture, and subtlety of recorded music, and it’s encouraging to see those qualities recognized in a real-world demonstration.

The Partners Behind the Presentation
An international audio show involves considerably more than shipping a pair of loudspeakers across the world.
It requires planning, equipment coordination, careful setup, and the commitment of people who understand how to present a system at its best.
We’re grateful to Michael and the team at Reference Audio Visual for their continued work representing EgglestonWorks in Australia, and to Cameron at Krispy Audio for his involvement and assistance throughout the show.
Their collaboration helped make the Andra 5’s Australian debut a memorable one.
For a small manufacturer building loudspeakers in Memphis, Tennessee, relationships like these are essential. They connect our work with listeners who might otherwise never have the opportunity to experience it firsthand.
The Andra has traveled a long way since its introduction nearly thirty years ago. Seeing its latest generation welcomed in Melbourne is another meaningful chapter in that story.

Our thanks to Reference AV, Krispy Audio, and everyone who took the time to visit and listen.
